The UPROPE newsletter has been around for as long as there has been a Mountaineering Section. In 2008 a project began to digitize every issue of the UPROPE newsletter as a searchable PDF resource detailing climbing and mountaineering in this area since 1937.  Read the full story in the upcoming newsletter soon.

New Business:
    • 2012 Executive Committee
    • Jenny O’Brien brought to the club’s attention of the re-establishment of a climbing area that has been closed for 15 years: SAFE HARBOUR. This was once a popular sport climbing area with 130 routes. It is about 2.5 hours from our locale on the Susquehanna. More information can be found here: http://safeharborclimbing.com/

Disclaimer: There is no way for 275 club members to attend a monthly meeting; I don’t think having 65 people in that room is even allowed by the fire marshal. With that said, for those of you camping out by their computers waiting for the monthly meeting minutes to come out, I try to have the MMM out the same night as the meeting. This is because I am OC. I know if you could attend the meeting(s), you would.  If the minutes aren't completely accurate then this will stimulate some discussion on the list. My aim in this task as Secretary is to post the most current information to the membership in the MMM as well as in the NEWSLETTER as the Editor.

We’re gonna have a great year!
